Is there anyone who shouldn't float?Do not float if you have an infectious disease, open skin wounds or incontinent issues. If you have a fresh tattoo it's recommended to wait up to 6 weeks. Do not float with fresh hair dye - your hair must be able to pass a white towel test. If you are epileptic, diabetic, have kidney disease, chronic heart disease, or have a condition which may be adversely affected by cutaneous absorption of magnesium seek the opinion of your physician. For any other conditions/concerns please check the “things to know tab” and/or contact Alexandra at remedymespa@gmail.com

Can I float if I am pregnant?Yes! Floating decreases swelling and relieves pressure from your joints which is very welcomed by growing bodies. In the tank there are no sounds other than your heart beat, and possibly a second heart beat! If you have any specific concerns you should consult your physician prior to floating. We do ask that you do not float after 38 weeks as it may affect our solution. Contact owner Alexandra if you have special circumstances to ask.

How are tanks kept clean?Between each float the water is passed 3 times through the filtration system which includes a 1 micron filter, UV light, an Ozonator and Hydrogen Peroxide at 35%(which is a very powerful disinfectant) is added to boost the disinfecting power of the UV light. We also test and skim the water between each and every client that floats. To add, Epsom salt in itself is inhospitable for bacteria and viruses, and having around 1,000lbs in a lot of water means it is very inhospitable.

Can I float if I have COVID?You absolutely may float with COVID as it increases your magnesium and helps alleviate any body aches and inflammation, increases your immune system, and much more! The ozonator cleans the air in the room along with the rooms being disinfected with bleach between clients. We just ask you wear a mask until you are in your private suite and you let our staff know by texting 334-744-1668 so they can mask up and disinfect doorknobs/bathroom if necessary also.

How long do you stay in?Remedy Me Spa offers 60, 90, and 120 minute floats. You are always in control of your float and can get in or out whenever you want. ALWAYS remember to use the restroom BEFORE you float no matter the length of your float!

What do I wear while floating? You can wear a swimsuit during your float, but it isn't necessary. In fact, we recommend not wearing anything at all. This is because the less sensation you have against your skin, the better. We recommend removing all jewelry if possible before the float as the solution is very thick and can get in the crevices very easily OR if you choose to wear your jewelry you can wash with warm vinegar water to help dissolve at home.

DO I need to bring anything? Not usually. If you wear contact lenses bring a case & solution, or wear glasses. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels & ear plugs are provided. Basic beauty supplies such as Q-tips, & blow dryer are available. Feel free to bring any specialty products you wish to use post float such as hairbrush, make-up, hair tie, etc. Also we provide tampons if needed in the bathroom prior to the float and or cups are okay also. But please reschedule your float if it’s a heavy cycle day.
